Wrist sprain: Your signs/symptoms suggest a wrist sprain. In addition to ice and ace, a rigid velcro wrist splint to immobilize the wrist may help, as well as nsaids such as Ibuprofen or aleve (naproxen). If possible, try to use both hands or the other hand to carry books, or carry fewer books, until you have improved. See a physician if symptoms persist > 2 - 3 weeks.
