Minor procedure: Often, a physician can make a small cut over the area of the puncture wound and dissect down to retrieve the foreign object. This would be done under a local anesthetic. I would not try this at home as it may lead to further injury or infection.

See emergency doctor: Foreign bodies are very difficult to localize without help. Fb in lacerations are usually localized by radiograph and sometimes ultrasound. These modalities help surgeon or er physician localize foreign body for removal.
