Cough: First off, cough is the most lingering symptom of a cold, so even if the antibiotic worked, cough could still stay on for a while, although, should be getting better. Another reason for not going away is that the antibiotic was not the right treatment choice. In that case, you will need to contact your doc and have him do further work up of your condition.
