Tics : Tics most commonly refer to sudden and short lived involuntary movements, which can be voluntarily temporary suppressed. The two major types of tics are motor ticks or vocal or phonic tics (utterances). Tics can be as simple eye blinking or as complex as forceful jerking of the body. Tics are best depicted in patients with tourette syndrome.

What is a tic: A tic is an involuntary motor movement. They usually start as a single tic but other patterns are multiple tics starting at the same time and tics that wax and wane, one type replacing another. There are medications that can modify the course of tics.
