Primary care doctor: Constipation is treated by primary care doctors. There are many ways to treat it. The main problem is that the time it takes for food one ate to go through the intestine and out the anus is too long of a time. One must make "intestinal transit" time more rapid. Water, fiber, exercise, and happiness will help do this. Laxatives and special meds from the primary or specialist doctors also help out.
