Stop rubbing: If eyes itch there are some good anti itch over the counter drops for thei -zaditor.. Every time you itch it releases more of the substance that causes the eyes to itch- the cycle of allergies. No rubbing or itching will help.

Allergy, rubbing: The most common cause is acute allergy of the eye, which can cause swelling. Rubbing the eyes makes it much worse. Rinse your eyes with water. Put a cold pack on the closed eyelids. If it doesn't get better, go see your specialist eye md (ophthalmologist).
