Occasionally, no: Particularly if you can remain awake and functional until bedtime next day. A brief nap (not longer than about 90 minutes, set an alarm) would be ok mid-day, but longer could further disturb your sleep pattern. Try reducing caffeine & other stimulants and slowing your activity level about an hour before you plan to go to bed.
