Supplements?: Taking the supplements gets you the same amount of magnesium every day. Day after day. Eating foods "high" in magnesium is going to be provide a variable amount of magnesium depending on your appetite, how the foods are prepared, what else you are eating and drinking. So, if you want reliable consistent magnesium intake, count on the supplements. If you just want "more" then the foods are ok.
