Tears and feelings: Are healthy ways to "let off steam" when we feel sad or angry or joyful. Feelings are not right or wrong, good or bad. They are just part of being alive and human. If you are sad, tears help process the sadness. There is nothing to be ashamed of. Hopefully, this will help, you may want to talk to a therapist re what is making you sad, if you still feel ashamed. Good luck let us know if this helps.

Shame: Shame is just about the darkest emotion people can face. It presupposes that there's an audience to our alleged wrongdoings, and that devastating judgement will be passed. Something to remember is that everyone has something they feel ashamed about; it's inescapable. Find a reputable psychotherapist to speak with. Getting it off one's chest in a safe, nonjudgmental place is the first step.
