Is there a vaccination for chickenpox?

Yes: First developed in japan in the 1970s this vaccine was approved by the fda for use in the us in 1995. It is commonly given as 2 doses at 1 and 4-5 yrs of age. Adults can receive 2 doses at least 30 days apart to gain long term protection.
