Chickenpox: is vaccination effective if i am already infected ?

Doesn't treat it: The chickenpox vaccine consists of a weakened strain of the chickenpox given by injection. It can trigger the same type of antibody production as the chickenpox but it does not make it go away or get better faster. If you had it years ago it does not hurt to get the vaccine, it would just boost your protection.

Confusing question: There are many adults who are not sure they had chickenpox as a kid & consider getting the vaccine.Having the vaccine years after a case will not hurt you & may actually boost your immunity for a while. It does not help a person get over it while they are infected.
