Can exfoliating the skin help scarring?

To a degree : If a scar is largely superficial or epidermal improvements can be seen with several exfoliating methods including chemical peels and microdermabrasion . For more substantial scars as in acne or surgical scars, more aggressive treatments are necessary. There are newer hybrid techniques with micropen and fractional laser that are also giving good results.

For minor irregular: Microdermabrasion is essentially an advanced exfoliative techniques and will only correct very minor and superficial irregularities. Traditional dermabrasion with fat grafting is more likely to produce improved results.
