I want to make my skin a lighter shade, will exfoliating daily help me do this?

Skin lightening: Exfoliation will not help you achieve a "lighter" shade of skin. Exfoliation removes the outermost layer of your skin (the stratum corneum). The pigment which results in skin color is made by melanocytes in the bottom/basal layer of the skin, and this pigment is ultimately transferred to nearby skin cells of the epidermis. Usual exfoliation does not affect these cells
