Low potassmagnesium : Usually these are muscle spasms which have localized compression causing decreased arterial blood flow and build-up of lactic acid. These muscles can cramp and depolarize causing the spams. More commonly, electrolyte imbalances shuch as low potassium. Complicated causes of "charley horses" are occlusive atherosclerosis, neuromuscular diseases, spinal stenosis or annulus pulpossum herniations.
