Temporal headache: The most common cause of temporal headache is stress with persistent muscle tension in your temporal muscles, which control the jaw. What's going on in your life? Any stress or tension that you're aware of? Warm compresses and time outs just to relax and unwind with muscle relaxation or meditation will help. Ibuprofen will also help.

Seek medical help: If you are over 50 years of age or close to it, there is a condition called temporal arteritis which is inflammation of the temporal arteries that supply the eyes. You need to see a physician or go to an er to make sure you do not have this condition as it can cause permanent loss of vision. Once this is ruled out, other causes of headaches can be looked for.
