I V DRIP: Iv drip is given in the hospital if you need fluids through your vein in cases of vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, to give IV meds, before going for surgery and there may be other indications like falling BP etc.A small butterfly needle or a catheter is placed in one pf your vein usually in arm or hand, or another part of body rarely and ivfluids bottle is attached to it and at a rate ordered by doctor.
