Family attitudes: Everyone in a family will have different attitudes about medicines for mental health treatment and this is driven by sociocultural phenomena in addition to the challenging philosophical questions about the mind in relationship to the physical world. There are also a lot of horror stories of antidepressants turning people in zombies. Talk with your doctor if you are having misgivings yourself!
