It should not: Repair of teeth is usually painless if good local anesthesia is obtained.Speak to your dentist beforehand about it being your first restorative procedure.

It should not: Modern dentistry with modern anesthetics should make the process painless. There is no excuse in this day and age for a restoration [filling] to hurt.
