I used flonase about 4 times before reading about the connection it has with cataracts.. how dangerous is this?

Steroids & cataracts: Flonase is one of the inhaled steroid medications. In general, chronic (more than several months) use of steroids can be associated with cataract formation, but this is most commonly associated with the use of oral steroids (like prednisone) or steroid eye drops. Steroid inhalers or nasal sprays are least likely associated with cataract formation. Don't be worried about Flonase use as needed.

Steroids + cataracts: Long term steroid use is known to cause cataract formation. A cataract is essentially a cloudy lens, and occurs in everyone if you live long enough. As a general rule, i tend to advise patients to treat their systemic conditions first. If you develop a cataract because of your Flonase use, then you just move up the timeline and have cataract surgery at an earlier age.
