A low-carb diet high: In protein could affect your serotonin level, according to dr. Mcdougall (www.Drmcdougall.Com). A diet high in starches, vegetables & fruits is healthy. Another dietary factor could be an allergic reaction to certain foods -- the most common are dairy products, eggs, wheat, corn, & citrus fruits. Other possible causes include thyroid function, meds, alcohol, & life events. Talk to your dr.
