Likely aphthous: If it is in the part of the lip/tissue that is inside and not near the teeth (where the gum tissue does not move) then it is most likely an aphthous ulcer.It it caused by a virus and will take 10-14 days before it goes away.It generally looks/feels the worst at about day 7.Warm salt water rinses are soothing. Avoid overuse of anesthetics (benzodent, etc.) if necessary a small amount of baby oragel.
