Help please! is cervical cancer rare because of pap smears, or because it is a rare cancer?

Yes: Epidemiologically, it's probably not in the top 4 or 5 cancers affecting females because of the Pap smear. I don't know if I would categorize it as rare. Although, now with HPV vaccines becoming mainstream, it may well become one of those rare cancers.
