Can be good: The prognosis will depend on a few things, such as if cancer is detected early before it spreads to adjacent organs or to distant parts of the body. When found early before it has spread, prognosis is pretty good and over 90% will be alive at least 5 years later. This number drops to about 60% when it spreads locally..and down to about 15-20% if spread to distant organs. But these are averages.
