Depends: It depends on the type of depression you had when starting the medication. If you had more situational stressors at the time which have improved or perhaps you had therapy which helped resolve issues/ improve coping skills, it may be possible to come off of medication. For cases of severe major depression, one usually needs to remain on medication. Discuss this issue with your doctor.
