Maybe...: 3m lava dental crowns are a translucent ceramic crown. There are many brands of ceramic crowns of which lava is but one. I am not familiar with the term "ultra-translucent" being used for a specific brand of ceramic crowns.

Yes: If you look at the component make up: 3m lava is a hybrid material not a 100% ceramic. But as a result, it has improved strength over some ceramic materials.

Ceramic crowns: There are many types of ceramic crowns fabricated from different materials. Everyone has its own specific properties. There is no one "ideal" type. Different dentists tend to have their own preference based upon their own experiences. Regarding translucency, while everyone can be individualized, some are more opaque than others. Focus on the quality of care rather than on materials.
