Therapy: Working with a therapist to develop better means of self-protection. Confrontation may not be the best idea, as bullies tend to pick their victims because they believe the person lacks the ability to defend their selves well. There are many good books on the subject as well both for children and teens, as well as, adults. Yes, it is quite common in the adult world as well.
