Severe acne: If you have severe acne it should be treated as soon as possible. One of the most effective ways of doing this is with a drug called accutane. For this you need to see a dermatologist and go through a history and physical exam to see if you're appropriate. This is serious and important therapy, but could prevent scarring in most cases.
