I got an mri of my foot done and it reported that i have moderate plantar fascitis with partial tear of proximal central cord. i also have mild peroneus longus tendinosis. the doctor has recommended prp. do you agree?

PRP: Platelet rch plasma injections are a reasonable option for your problem. However no guarantees can be given for this type of treatment and unfortunately insurance does not cover the cost in most cases. Other conservative options include cortizone (hydrocortisone) injections, stretching, orthotics, and other modalities including night splints. Surgery is rarely necessary.

You can try it: There are really no studies showing efficacy of this treatment for this condition. The treatment is not cheap and usually not covered either. Having said that, there is really no good treatment for this injury. You may consider neuroablation of the nerve that inner ages that region to get rid of the pain associated with the injury.
