A member asked:

Why should capsules not be crushed or dissolved in any fluids ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Time released: Some medications are time released and cannot be crushed or dissolved in water because it breaks the time release mechanism and all the medication is released at once and not over time as it was designed to release. Some capsules or tablets that are not time released can be dissolved. Follow the instructions for each medication or ask your pharmacist.
