Foveal Dystrophy: Fvd is due to a build up of a fatty yellow pigment (lipofuscin) in cells underlying the macula. Over time, the abnormal accumulation of this substance can damage these cells which are important for clear central vision. Dr. Joanna seddon and dr. Joan miller are the best in the ne in managing fvd at harvard medical school, mass eye and ear; 617-573-3700. Best regards, slc.
