Shin bone injury: Your shin bone, known as the tibia, sits just below the skin in the front of your leg. An injury can result in bleeding under the skin or in the lining of the bone like a severe bruise called hematoma. If hit hard enough, the bone can break. Either way what you describe needs medical attention. Your primary care physician should be able to order x-rays and make the diagnosis.
