Go to ER or other MD: Sounds like you have cellulitis, an infection of the skin - you will likely need antibiotics and should see a physician asap. If you cannot schedule an appt with your pcp today, go to the er.

Infection: It sounds like it is infected. You may need to have it drained if there's pus there or at least have antibiotics prescribed. You will still have to see a doc, perhaps a different one from the one you saw.
