See a doctor: Heavy bleeding at 47 years of age could be many things, but i would definitely see a doctor to go over possibilities. On the list: fibroids, polyps, pre-cancer of the uterus, hormnonal issues, thyroid imbalance to name a few. As we age, it's important not to ignore health concerns. Get a check up. Doctor should perform a uterine biopsy to rule out uterine cancer with heavy bleeding at age 47.
