Scar Tissue: Keloids are raised and look shiny and dome-shaped, ranging in color from pink to red. Some keloids become quite large and unsightly. Aside from causing potential cosmetic problems, these exuberant scars tend to be itchy, tender, or even painful to the touch. You can go to the doctor and get a cortisone shot in the scar which will soften the tissue.

Probably not: Important questions about this: how deep was the original wound? How long ago did it occur was it stitched up? Are there any lumps in the scar has there been drainage from anywhere a deep scar could be stiff or involve underlying muscle or even bone a scar can be tender or itch a small infection or foreign body could be present have your doctor inspect it to be certain.
