Hot drink is fine: Treatment of viral respiratory infections includes rest and symptomatic treatments. Warm or hot drinks would not spread the infection, and may be soothing. If it does not resolve, then would seek medical attention, as a bacterial infection may be present.

Hot drinks are OK: Your question is not quite clear, by seasonal we have 2 meanings one something you get say; every spring, and one like seasonal flu; that most people get it like in autumn. There is no viral variety of the first kind. If you are asking about latter, hot drinks do not spread infection. Under 25 year old & bad sore throat do not assume viral & see yourr family md for a throat culture.
