None known: Ramsay hunt is a subset of herpes zoster involing the ear..Can be a painful condition. It is a reactivation of your prior chicken-pox infection. If you never had chickenpox, you can't get ramsay. Thus, current vaccines will reduce this in the future. Ramsay, if diagnosed early, can be treated by medications such as valcyclovir/famciclovir etc... Otc lysine may help? Consult your doc.. Good luck.

Not wise: Ramsay hunt is a severe disorder with herpes infection of the inner ear and can result- if not treated, in permanent scar tissue, hearing loss, weakness of the facial muscles and other problems. See a dr. Right away if you suspect ramsay hunt.
