Dysphagia: Difficulty with swallowing is dysphagia. By visualizing swallow with barium ingestion can visualize or mimic what possibly is producing swelling feeling and nausea. Sometimes variation in anatomy can cause problems with swallowing. Sometimes difficulty related to innervation and movement disorder of esophagus and pharynx. If swallow is normal can exclude many sources of dysphagia.

Lump in throat: Anything serious like cancers has to be ruled out .You might have a barium test as well as referred to an ENT specialist to take a look down the throat.
