What symptoms of low amniotic fluid are the most important?

Oligohydramnios: Low amniotic fluid or oligohydramnios is a condition brought about by a decreased production of urine by the fetus either through a decreased placental perfusion or blocked urinary outlet, to name a few. It could also result from a ruptured amniotic membrane. One of the first signs of low fluid is a size-date discepancy of the growing uterus. An ultrasound will help to diagnose the condition.

Outcome > importance: True low amnionic fluid(af) means baby is not making it or its leaking. Not making= blockage at esophagus or kidneys or outlet. Af is needed to expand the womb and decrease the shrink wrap effect.Too tight =not enough room for lungs to develope completly.Prenatal ultrasound can sometimes give clues to problems before delivery.Delivery in a center capable of advanced neonatal care may be indicated.
