Exercise/nutrition: Narcotics are not good for chronic back pain. Find a doctor that will work with you to get off of them. Things to do on your own are first to start a good core exercise program (find one you like on an internet search). Then maximize your nutrition by cutting out all sugar and back on starches (look up robb wolf's paleo solution). Supplements to take are vitamin d, fish oil, and glucosamine.
