In late pregnancy,: Yes. Body position does impact both mother and baby: maternal cardiac output (heart pumping and oxygen delivery) in late pregnancy is greatest in the left lateral position, intermediate in the right lateral position and lowest when the mother is lying flat. The same is true for mother and baby during labor. Great question!
