Thrombosis: It sounds like your hemorrhoid is thrombosed, which means that it's blood supply has clotted off and it is swollen and engorged. Surgically removing the clot with a minor 5min procedure that can be done in the er or your doctor's office with local anesthetic will temporarily relieve the pain.
