Thrombosis: It sounds like your hemorrhoid is thrombosed, which means that it's blood supply has clotted off and it is swollen and engorged. Surgically removing the clot with a minor 5min procedure that can be done in the er or your doctor's office with local anesthetic will temporarily relieve the pain.

Last Wednesday I noticed the onset of a large external hemorrhoid. I have been stricken with at worst like 7/10 pain. No topical creams or tuck wipes help. Its terrible now to sit and walk. What else can I do, and how long before seeking treatment?
