Time & hygiene: Nail bruise will heal on its own unless it gets infected. Keep the area clean and time will take care of the bruise. If is becomes painful, swollen or develops a discharge, see your doctor.

I while ago I had an infection under my toenail. I treated it with a over the counter nail treatment you brush on. Just as the left side of the nail grew out the right side got all bruised and swollen (not sure why) so I started treating that side. Its not growing quite right, Last night it swelled again.
