Back pain: Excerbation after standing traction is unusual if the problem is discogenic back pain. If you are having a bony problem or a problem with the sacroiliac joint then it could be made worse with the standing frame. Difficult to answer this question without more information like: how long have you had problem, where is it located, what makes it worse or better, associated with leg pain or tingling.

Back pain: Talk to your physical therapist. It may be a transient effect of the therapy given. If in doubt, get second opinion. Also, may consult with your physician and see if new findings are seen on exam.
