Yes but: It can be from asthma but yet rather uncommon. Do you notice any pain when you press your fingers against the affected area? By far, costochrondritis (inflammation at the rib cage joints) is the more common cause for the pain especially when the pain occurs only occasionally. Check with your doctor if this bothers you enough or you have had recent trauma to the chest (auto accident?).
