Prolactin levels down following 6 months tx yet microprolactinoma has not shrunk . could low dose cabergoline be prescribed indefinitely ( .25 mg wk)?

Prolactinoma: A prolactinoma does not always shrink, and with a small prolactinoma, it may be hard to tell if it shrinks. In addition, it may take more than 6 months. Most important is normalization of prolactin and other hormones (eg testosterone). Cabergoline can be used long term. These decisions are somewhat complicated, and it is best you see your endocrinologist about them.

Yes.: But you are on a small dose. Typical is 0.5mg 2 times per week! I have many pts on daily for parkinson's.
