Neuropathy: Neuropathic pain refers to pain from an irritated nerve as opposed to actual injury eg crush or burn. Uncontrolled diabetes & some vitamin deficiencies are associated w/neuropathic as is shingles. Also herniated disk compressing nerve can do this, too. Go see your family doc for evaluation, diagnosis & treatment. Avoid narcotics & opioids for this type of pain. Consider Lidocaine patch or capsaici.
