My sister was diagnosed with early lyme disease. what does this mean?

Seek treatment: Lyme disease is a tick-borne bacterial infection. If treated early, it resolves without future consequences. If not treated early, it can evolve into a chronic problem that is almost impossible to resolve. So if your sister has "early" lyme disease, tell her to seek treatment as soon as possible.

She should recover: Lyme disease is caused by a spiral bacteria called borellia burgdorfii. It is transmitted to humans by the bite of ticks which pick it up from the local woodland animals (deer, rodents). It typically causes a circular rash which clears in the center and spreads outwards, but is also responsible for damage to the heart, nervous system and other areas of body. Easily treated if diagnose early.
