A member asked:

How is it that immunity suppression isn't considered for treating hiv?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Counterproductive: Hiv causes immune suppression: aids stands for acquired immune deficiency syndrome. The main dangers of aids are infections, because the immune system can't fight them off, and certain tumors caused by viruses not contained by the damaged immune system. Treating with immunosuppression would just make this worse.
