Trouble: Kleptomaniacs are driven to steal, often as shoplifting. What drives this behavior can be explored and altered through proper psychotherapy, and medication often can help as well. One problem with kleptomania is that frequently the person is arrested for the illegal behavior, and this obviously threatens her ability to parent well. So to serve mother and child, she should seek professional care.
