Nasal mucous: It is normal for the nose to make mucous, but what you are describing sounds excessive. Usually when there is excessive mucous production, there is a reason. Allergies, nasal or sinus infection are common causes. Even acid reflux can get to the level of the back of the nose. Treatment depends on the cause. You can try some nasal saline irrigation, but if this doesn't help, get checked out.
